Dr Amjad Ali is one of the founder members of AIMS group of doctors who came to UK for specialist training. The doctors from the North West of Pakistan wanted to help the disadvantaged communities in Pakistan and rest of the world. The work is mainly about the treatment of non communicable diseases like diabetes, hypertension as well as health awareness. The idea started in 1995 and AIMS International charity was later registered in 2003.
Dr Ali remained committed to the work of AIMS throughout this period of time. He works as an associate general surgeon in Bedfordshire. He is involved in a number of other projects and is the Chairman of Bedford Park Cricket Club. The club was formed in 2008 and ultimately won the Bedford and district league competition for two consecutive years. Dr Ali is running the day to day work of the charity in UK and is constantly in contact with the overseas partners of AIMS International.
